Maeda Apologizes
Just bought John Maedas book The Laws of Simplicity where I found that beautiful statement right in the first chapter:
«My early computer art experiments led to the dynamic graphics common on websites today. You know what I’m talking about—all that stuff flying around on the computer screen while you’re trying to concentrate—that’s me. I am partially to blame for the unrelenting stream of “eye candy” littering the informationlandscape. I am sorry, and for a long while I have wished to do somethingabout it.»
I remember all of us students wowing when our Prof showed Johns experiments. They are still awesome but it’s good to start thinking about them in a more serious way.
